A trail connecting to the history of Frederick County
The Frederick Bicycle Coalition is leading a new campaign to extend the East Street Rail Trail to Heritage Park in Walkersville alongside the Walkersville Southern Railroad.
The Frederick and Pennsylvania Line Railroad Trail (formerly Monocacy Crossing Trail) will provide a safe and vital pathway between Frederick City and County.
With increasing frequency, pedestrian and bike friendly communities are what many people demand. Frederick has a lot to offer its residents and tourists. This trail is a tremendous opportunity to grow and improve the bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure of the City of Frederick and Frederick County. These improvements encourage an active lifestyle and present options for residents who like the idea of using human power to travel and be experience the beauty of Frederick but are uncomfortable doing so on the open road.
In keeping with our mission, the Frederick Bicycle Coalition has identified a real need for a safe pathway for cyclists and pedestrians who wish to link the City of Frederick to points north. Our vision is the Frederick and Pennsylvania Line Railroad Trail.
